So that's why it hurt

Postby Jon H » Tue Mar 17, 2009 9:23 pm

A while ago I fell of my bike on the way home from work. Apart from a bit of road rash my only hurty bit was a twinge in my little finger. It swelled up and was bruised, but everything looked to be in the right place so I thought I had just sprained it.

Anyway, four weeks later it's still looking like a chipolata sausage, so I went to the minor injuries unit to get it checked. Had an x-ray which revealed a clean break through the proximal phalange (that's the first finger bone), and was given an appointment at the fracture clinic. And there was me thinking they would just tell me not to be such a wuss and go home.

Now, where's Dr Lazer?

oh no you poor thing.. broken fingers aren’t fun..

have you notice what a accident prone club we are or is this just cycling in general

I hope the health insurance people don’t catch up with us soon and there is a tick box for ‘member of a cycling club’ that then = a premium of an X rated amount.
