Handicap 11th Aug Newdigate

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

Good raace tonight apart from a small altarcation with some horses on the final lap.

Had a good race finished at the back with Chris don't think we were last though!

Hmmm 21s on saturday I'll think about it.

Massive turn out for the addiscombe must have been nearly 10 racing and a further 5 or 6 supporting.

Come on the Addiscombe.......

Bit of a shame about the horses, I felt really good in the race. The elites caught my group at the end of the first lap so it was quite a hard couple of laps. Enjoyed watching Sean Yates from close by he really knows what he is doing. Every now and then he would go to the front and pull the peleton a bit faster and then he would relax for a bit and do it again. Great fun, caught the final group on the final quarter of the lap but then the horse incident messed it up for a lot of us.

Never mind these things happen, at least it didn't pee it down with rain. Loads of ACCers racing I lost count.

Cheers

Marek....

so i managed to get back from up north in time to stuff a bowl of pastsa down my neck at set of on my almighty warm up. 20 miles later and i am still riding as Merek passes in his car. excellent it cant be much further now.. after 25 miles i finally make it.. completely knackered and ready to race! hope fully i will not get dropped like i normally do at Palace..

race pace was fairly steady and it was so nice not to get dropped.. big shame about the horses... and then the 25 mile warm down!!

no ... big big thanks to Simon for giving me a lift home... i would probably have still been riding now

thanks mate

D'oh my car broke down after five miles (something snapped in the shifter and it was stuck in first gear) so Kevin and I didn't make it in time.

After driving back towards Croydon at snail pace Kevin found an open garage he knew, fortunately it was only a matter of re-connecting two arms (with a zip-tie!) which had popped out of place, back on the road we got there just as the race was starting.

Good to see lots of ACC jerseys and other people I knew, as well as Sean Yates - Kevin couldn't quite believe his eyes his old hero was there and he could've been racing with him. Oh well let's hope I can get to Hillingdon alright, think i'll be riding there though ...

Don't ask Sean (Yatesy) to make up the numbers whatever you do!
