Bizarelly, in the good ole days of capstan puffing on the plane, they used to completely replace the air frequently as a way of dealing with ye fag smoke. Now, most of it's recycled. So you get much much less fresh air on a no smoking plane. Weird eh?

B&H anyone   ??

Good point, well made. And at least you couldn't smell the toilets in those days.

Go on - drive us a lug, then

Re: Rye & Back...is back! - Postponed, sorry.

Yeah Snoop I'd heard that when there was smoking on planes they had to scrub the plane with fresh air every 2 minutes, now most of it's recycled as it cuts costs and everyone thinks it's cleaner as you can't smell the smoke.

Doubt I'll be out on Saturday at all as I want to shift it and be fit for the TTT next weekend.

Well every cloud has a silver lining, as I might be able to make the next one :D .

Don't blame your snuffles on Queasy Jet. I was less than 100% after you lot left as well. I put it down to weakening of the immune system as a result of too much exercise and some dodgy 'recovery drink'.

Yes Mark this Saturday  .

However I do not intend riding all the way to Rye if there is any rain forecast, for example if showers are forecast in the afternoon then I have no desire to start getting wet and still have 70 rolling miles to do. Looks okay at the moment.

If there is rain forecast for during the day then although I won't do the Rye ride I would still do an alternative ride from GBs at 9am through the Surrey and Kent lanes (probably out towards Ashdown Forest and through Penshurst). This would still be a longish ride and can be extended with various loops if the weather changes it's mind, but having the advantage of being nearer to home should it get worse.

Just a reminder if you intend to come please print the map out (earlier in the thread) and check you're okay with the details (original post).

Cheers, and fingers crossed for Saturday.

I'm thinking about joining this.

As I have to ride up from Horley, any chance I can join at Crockham Hill, Mr  ? It would be easier for me to ride or drive across there, which makes more sense for me on the way home as well.

What time do you think you will be at Crockham Hill. About 9:40?
