You got me bang to rights there Tim. It's a luvverly geetar. I funded the purchase from selling stuff in my loft on ebay. Took a while - got it for a very nice price mind  . I also have a Washburn Dreadnought from 1990, an early 70's Epiphone EA 250 semi (cherry sunburst kinda stylee - feeds back like a scalded cat  ) and a new Takamine EG 260 (I think that's the number). Gone are my Squier honey blonde Tele, Gibson Les Paul, and Epiphone Explorer 8) .

Bikes, axes, I likes 'em both see

Just a thought as Lloyd Park got a mention...we could always co-op so to speak with the Croydon Music Festival (sure it's held there...well I was a bit out of it)....bevvies and music!!!

.....to further the guitar talk Snoop's collection puts mine to shame - mine's an Epiphone Nighthawk (dreadful name but exceptionally light and high cut away for the wiggly bits/arpeggios above the 12th fret blah, blah.....). Anyhow to put it in bike speak mines a Specialized Allez, Snoop's PRS (with real mother of pearl inlay and enough exotic wood to get your avearge tree hugger freekin' - I'm sure it's all sustainable really) is Team equiped full carbon bike with zipp 404s!

Right off to find the modal scales book I once promised myself I'd get round to learning!

Roll on the social....

In a vague attempt to tickle this back on track

Sunday 2nd August.

Looks like Farthing Downs is a good choice, it's pretty easy for most to get to, near to Coulsdon South Station. Car parking's easy if you like. And as marco sez, there's an option to arrive in off road stylee too...

One thing - I don't know the layout of FD too well, is there the option of tree shade cover? If it's a v fine day then we might want the option to take to the shade.

I hope we can create an inclusive feel to the day, so please, bring your family and friends. Maybe if we have enough kids (and big kids) we could have a few fun sports games, egg & spoon, sack race, whatever. I'll see if the committee will stump up for a few prizes and the like.

Food and drink should be BYO to keep it simple.

Music wise I was just thinking if people wanted to bring some acoustic stuff along and do something informal then that might be fun, nothing serious.

Plenty of time for this to take great shape

I don't mind where it is. Baguette and brie in rack top box and bottle of red in the bottle cage. Sorted.

[quote="Sean Hogan - 何祥"]I've got to come out and say that CPP is a better option all round, certainly because as we're close and don't have a car it is more likely we'll come. Add to that it is far less exposed than FD is.

Well that's what I proposed and it quickly got outvoted in the early stages (good to see it coming back tho...). It may be nearer to you but equally not others. We'll not please everyone on that score. I do agree that it's a much better sheltered spot under the trees away from the concert stage, mmmm, I'm there already. So, I suggest we let the pointless debate rage here for a while then we do a poll on the forum later, plug it via lanterne rouge and let majority rule decide.

Farthing Down is home turf (being so near to CSS) and as its at the top of a hill Andrew Green can freewheel down at ill-advised speed when drunk.

Chloe's got two pop-up gazebos she said we can use to provide shade. And there's plenty of shade under Chloe's pop-up gazebos believe me :D

Good idea, we can run a "who can carry the most stuff to the summer picnic on their bike" competition :D .
Panniers, rack packs, wine in bottle cages, parasol tied to the top tube Nick Crane stylee...and so on.
