Swimathon 2009, it's in the bag

Postby Snoop Doug » Thu Apr 16, 2009 10:32 pm

Well now. As you know, my red rawness unfortunately kept me from the pool tonight. So, I ended up with the stopwatch on counter duty. How did the family get on then?

Granmaw Snoop in Law, 10 lengths = 225 metres
Mrs Snoop, 169 lengths = 4,225 metres
Miss Junior Snoop, age 6, 21 lengths = 525 metres

The team had the youngest and oldest swimmers at the event. I'm very proud of 'em all. Keira waaaay exceeded her expectations, I think 525m for a 6 year old is really going some.

Thanks to all of you who have supported the cause. So far there's £75 on the webpage, my Dad coughted up £50 tonight and there's another £50 odd in pledges kickin around. If anyone still wants to chip in, then please just click here http://my.artezglobal.com/personalPage.aspx?SID=257921 and do your thang. We're raising funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Well done again to the team, and thanks to all the sponsors.

Snoop

PS - I timed Carole from length 100 every ten lengths to the finish. Prior to that Carole had been helping her Mum and Keira so things were a bit off her usual pace. Times as follows:

1.21.16 @ 100
1.25.46 @ 110
1.30.17 @ 120
1.35.00 @ 130
1.39.36 @ 140
1.44.20 @ 150
1.49.06 @ 160
1.53.58 @ 170
1.58.54 @ 180
2.03.58 @ 190
2.08.59 @ 200

These times put me and most mere mortals to shame, good work.

Well done everyone, and especially Kiera having to take up the slack left by her dad.

I think your total just got a bit higher

Well done to the Snoopettes. Did Carole have an outboard strapped to her back  , blimey.

Top work all round, as Carole will be able to vouch for Keira and Granmaw Snoop would have left me for dead - Half a kilometre swim at 6 is blooming impressive.
