Cambridge duathlon

Postby carl f » Sun Apr 19, 2009 7:45 pm

After my 9th OV and AG win at steyning duathlon last monday :D,my old pins struggled to recover this week
A bright but very blustery morning up near the exposed fens made the bike leg even more tough than the draggy sussex hills last week
This race was a 7k-40k-7k,flat but very windy!

Anyway, managed to scrape another AG win! :D and 15th OV
This is part of the national duathlon ranking series so hopefully from my past 3 results has put me up near the top in my AG
If the BTF get there @rses into gear and sort the rankings out i might be able to find out....
Oh,i did spot an ACC top,but it was just before the start so didn't get a chance to say hello, who was it?
Well done to everyone else racing this weekend-fantastic!
Cheers
Carl

Thanks guys
Yes it hurt out there, there was only one small drag over the A14 but it was into a strong head wind, saw a lot of suffering.....
Lee piercy the winner still managed an amazing sub 1h 40k on the bike,my bike split was 1.04 something i think
Jim-you won't see me doing tri's this year,i can barely float let alone swim
Well done at the dragon slayer today, saw your result-fantastic!. Are you going for the tri nats again this year?

Carl,
No excuses mate. Lack of swimming ability never stopped me!!! Paul Hone could hardly swim a year ago and he's ripping it up now.
Yes giving the Middle Distance Champs another go at Bala. Bit early for me though. Would prefer later in the season.

Hi,

I was at Cambridge and from memory had an Addiscombe top on to keep warm before the start.

Nice result, I had a few decent results when I was in 'H', but never that good, well done!

Haven't done one since 2004, but suddenly decided that if I did MK then it might give me the 'kick up the ass' I definitely require to do some serious training

Anyway, ended up doing MK; Steyning and Cambridge - that was a tough few weeks since I hadn't run in a race since 2004!

But, it seems to have given m,e the required boot!

Will you be doing the final one in Oulton Park?? Seems like a lot further away and probably not ideal for getting up early and driving there!

cheers,

Huw

Hi Huw
Thanks, had a good 3 weeks of racing, and my legs certainly feel it this week...
Steyning was my fav race of the three(missed clumber due to injury)
How are you doing in the rankings?,are you AG-I?,still don't know the points from the four races yet!
Yes, think i will race Oulton Park in Oct,if your going and you fancy car sharing to keep costs down let me know nearer the time
Good too see your getting back into duathlon, thats one more for the club champs then!

Jim and snoop,i would like to learn to swim proper but just about find the time to train for running and cycling!
Cheers
