Well done, Alan. It sounds like a good hard race. The series looks interesting too. I might give one of these a go, but I'm not too keen on being at the wrong end of my age category (as you are). Still, it would make a change from giving away over 3 decades to the youngest riders at Hillingdon.

Well, an honourable 10th in my group but so far 5th in the series. My time was 01:49.008 and there were 4 from my group in the breakaway. I got s3 points. This will probably all change for the worse when my points get taken over to the next age group, still ...

Well done Alan, glad you have taken the plunge and enjoying a bit of competition.

Martin Hulbert always had the edge on me when we were racing many moons ago and was a 1st cat, and Tony Woodcock is an ex-international. Not only that Phil Bull is no slouch.

BTW Colin Bateman (11th) is a 2nd claim Agreeable, throwing arrers for us.

Pleased to say I'm now lying 2nd overall in the series after 3 events and Alan is 8th, which he should improve on, once back from Majorca. Another event this weekend at Thorney Island which should suit me, with an outside chance of taking over the lead or at least going to a clear 2nd overall. The last event was in Essex and a three man break stayed away despite many chasing groups, I won the bunch sprint for 4th place to stay in front of all the other overall contenders.
