Sorry to hear about this Adam, was that other driver a witness? or will it be young Adam's word against a consultant surgeon!! (maybe he has points on his licence , not BC points either)

bad luck matey, the most important factor with an accident insurance claim is to get a witness on your side if there was one if there isn't a witness then its your word against his.

The lady who turned up obviously didn't see the accident so therefor is not a witness, even if she did see it then by the sound of things would be on the side of the driver as she knew him.

I usually like to crash where there are lots of marshals and witnesses standing around and also a video camera running

Dr this morning confirmed I'm not in too bad a shape, indeed I seem to be good at bouncing.

Only real concern was any damage I may have done to my coccyx, which is to be duly monitored. Other than that, my wrist and right shoulder (again) are the other problem areas. My foot seems in pretty good nick, and cycling is not a problem on it, although walking is a bit painful.

So having been advised to keep moving I hopped on my, now, training bike (R3  ). Off I went, actually I felt ok. My wrist was the most persistent source of pain, but not excruciating. Then when pushing hard in the saddle my coccyx was causing quite a bit of discomfort, and felt like it was really robbing me of power. So my hill reps weren't exactly blistering. But it was good just to be back on the bike.

So, see you Saturday for the clubrun...

Oh yeah, and the police are now on the case. Will be interesting to see how they get on, the officer I spoke to certainly agreed the driver was 100% at fault.

Received a cheque for £2,750 from the most recent accident, today. To cover damaged bike and clothes.

Some justice at last.

I heard that as the car was overtaking Adam, he grabbed the aerial with his right hand and pulled it in front of him "Bos" style...............

Oh no, thats a cheque still to be argued over! As is the one concerning the somewhat fcuked nature of my right foot at present.

Yep, despite the guys blatent disregard at the time, and lack of witnesses, the guilt obviously got the better of him. He must have admitted liability pretty quick, in fact the first I heard of them admitting liability was the cheque landing on my door mat today. Happy days.

Thank God....when I saw this was bounced, I started to think it was the beginning of 2009's round of accidents.

This is much better news. I'll have a pint of Guinness please :D

Spoke to soon...I got hit on the way back from the club run on the Brighton road just coming into Sutton. Nothing serious, just really shook me up but ended up quite funny. Imagine the scene, me plowing along at 30 mph, wind behind me feeling good. Car pulling out of a junction on my right hand side to go the same direction as me....so pull out he does...thats ok, he's seen me and left enough room for me to go up the left hand side (I had no choice really as I was that close to the junction)....so what does he do...as soon as Im level with his front wing he swings over, whacks my pedal then back wheel, I had a massive wobble and stained my shorts :D God knows how I kept it upright.

Now for the best bit. I sit in front of him....slow down to 10 mph and gesture for him to come round me...he wont. We finally hit traffic so I get along side him...typical old git in a Nissan...he just ignores me. I asked him what he was playing at...obviously doing it quite loudly as his window was shut. 2 bobbies on foot hear the commotion and come over to see whats going on, as I'm explaining it all to them the traffic in front clears and despite being asked to stop by the plod the old git drives off...

Still, no harm done, quite funny when I look back.
