Alternative Hilly run 25-4-2009

Postby Mike I » Tue Apr 21, 2009 4:00 pm

Marek's ride seems to have attracted a load of skinny whippets who will leave me for dead as soon as the road points skywards. So, who fancies a more sedate but still quite tough ride in the Surrey hills? Meet at CSS at 9am, finish at Box Hill about 12.30pm, three or four hours of lumpy stuff in the middle.

I don't generally do a cafe stop on this ride until Box, so bring a banana.

Post here if you're interested, because otherwise I'm likely to start even earlier and 'get the miles in' :D .

Mike, would love to join you on a more "sedate" lumpy ride, but unfortunately I am not around this Saturday. If you do this regularly, I will join you on the next one.

Tempting, put me down as definite as one can be at present...

that's if you don't mind having to wait for me on the hills

Probably Epsom Downs, Headley, Ranmore, Coldharbour, Abinger, Holmbury, Peaslake, Pitch Hill, Shere and then a choice of White Down or Crocknorth on the way to Box Hill. And all the bits in between which I've forgotten.

Thanks for leading Mike, great ride.
Approx 60 nice and hilly miles around the Usual Surrey Suspects, Ranmore, Leith , Holmbury, Ranmore again and Box. I shamelessly wheelsucked behind Mike up Box only to make a pathetic attack way too early and get dropped on the final bend. Delicious sossy roll at the BH caff, fast run home and an afternoon slumped with the Telegraph and miscellaneous protein items while the Little Dombos and their Mummy did something with racquets and balls
