new bcf rules

Postby Rob » Wed Aug 17, 2005 12:27 am

everyone aware of teh new rules about points be introduced by BCF next season..theyve had enough of all these pants riders getting elite licenses...they think that elite cat holders should actually be elites...well said i reckon :D

to get an elite, youll need like 300 or 400 points..to retain it, 200!!!

to get first 200 points...to retain it 100

im not sure about other cats..but its designed to make life harder..and rightly so!

Blimey, I am not too bothered as I can't even get my fat butt out of 3rd cat, mind you I don't mind too much as there don't seem to be many 2nd cat races.

Cheers

Yeah, nothing worse than an Elite who sits in all race & wins the sprint at the end eh Rob?

Having said that though, there are still only 150 odd elites in the country so it mustn't be as easy as it sounds!

There's another way & that's just to lower the points system. Hillingdon, Goodwood & Eelmore all offer 10 points for a win, giving places down to 9th. Palace only gices 6 points for a win & places down to 5th!

Palace is twice as hard as any other mid-week circuit race, hence the reason for all the wanna be's who chicken out & go to Hillingdon!!!

Good to see Addiscombe out in force last night at Palace, I counted at least 4. Considering the over all turn out, that's a very good effort.

Toks, how'd you get on in the end? Well done Tamar for hanging in there, you looked comfortable & controlled around the corners.

pushing 200 id say!!

i think its a good idea, theres loads of youngsters who get loads points, jump straight up to elite, then dont have to get excessive amounts of points to retain their elite license....being an elite, you should be the best, have to work dam hard to earn it...not win loads of juniour races and jump up there!!!

guess everyone has their own views though. and seen as your dissapearing, guess it wont bother you anyway

I'm leaving Oct. 3rd, going back to Australia with my g/f to do 'winter' training for 7 months & then back to Belgium to try mix it with the big boys for 6 months.

If anything, i'm going to enjoy 13 months without working, just riding my bike :D

Probably rear my ugly head back here for National crit series races and the odd Premier calendar event. Oh, and to kick 'old man' Taylors butt at Palace
