Dunsfold Park 3/4 women
Chloe got 4th after a good race in high winds and the usual scenario of not enough women in the race to form big groups. Quite frighteningly she reports that she had to explain what 'through and off' meant to her fellow riders as they were racing  which is a bit scary as they were 3rd cats.

One ex triathlete got off the front for an impressive win and Chloe missed out in the sprint for second with classic 'not enough power in the legs' feeling.
She's done mainly endurance and not much speed work so far though so I expect a big improvement in this area with some short sharp stuff in training.
She's doing really well and already has a quarter of the points needed for 2nd cat after only a few of races and its still April :D

1 Natalie Creswick Twickenham CC
2 Alison Stringer
3 Emma Craddock
4 Chloe Thomas Addiscombe CCA
5 Sarah Atkinson Dulwich Paragon CC
6 Rebecca Slack London Dynamo/Cyclefit
7 Delia Beddis Dulwich Paragon CC
8 Leona Kadir Kingston Whls CC
9 Rebecca Charlton Team Mule Bar
10 Alex Marzec

Dunsfold Park 4ths men
Paul Dewis reports a comfortable finish in the pack. Flat course and very windy so not really a race playing to his strengths

Banstead Woods 5k
Awesome running from Paul H and Matt C as we've come to expect but look at that - Big Ben Fancourt in 9th in his first Park Run - excellent. There were 170 runners out in yesterday's event

2 Jack-Louis BOURNE 17:40
3 Roy REEDER 18:04
4 Richard LEE-SMITH 18:08

6 Daniel GILLETT 18:19
7 Joe BREWER 18:35
8 Chris PAUL-JOSEPH WILLIAMS 18:43

Hey once again, well done Chloe. I'm sure Huw has some nasty little intervals to help hone your finishing speed   8)

Well done Chloe - I heard that a certain C.Thomas had come 8th in the Cheshire Classic Women's race won by Annie Last and thought, surely she can't have been racing two days in a row?

I had a great Saturday and Sunday racing, I won the summit to Vowels Lane, won the sprint into West Hoathly and Sharpthorne and numerous other sprint signs that no-one else in the group I was riding with knew about.

Then Sunday toasted Paul Ingram up Kidds Hill, NICE, and he was trying. :D

What a great weekend, well done Chloe, good time Ben on the run, we should try to enter this one together as looks like you would push me a bit as you got a slightly quicker time than I did, nice one. Matt and Paul, well your just animals.

Cheers

MArek....

From what I saw as I was warming up Chloe looked very smoooth and strong on the bike. Well done for a fighting 4th from the front.

In the 3rd cats I was about 4th from the back. Oh hum. Got away a few times once in particular with a LD chap who took some holding. For a 3rd cat he was blooomin strong mate. It really was an effort just to stay on the wheel let alone go through. Anyway its good training and hope to do a few at Eelmore this year.

Afterwards I spoke to the LD rider commending him on his efforts and all he said was " I'm not as strong as that Addiscombe racer George Brent, he was too much"

I AM trying to get better. Just taking a while.

Well done to Chloe there are some really solid performances so far this year, and it's so different from being in the clubrun or from hanging on to the back in a blokes race. Most of the time, unless you are in the Women's Team Series races, you are on your own or in a v small group.

Nice one Ben on your run, and Paul and Matt too.

Most excellent, Keith Knight, to see you back in the saddle and turning the pedals in anger. My only quibble is that you didn't sort that Dynamo rider out. Come on, more effort required please :D
