Yes Mark this Saturday  .

However I do not intend riding all the way to Rye if there is any rain forecast, for example if showers are forecast in the afternoon then I have no desire to start getting wet and still have 70 rolling miles to do. Looks okay at the moment.

If there is rain forecast for during the day then although I won't do the Rye ride I would still do an alternative ride from GBs at 9am through the Surrey and Kent lanes (probably out towards Ashdown Forest and through Penshurst). This would still be a longish ride and can be extended with various loops if the weather changes it's mind, but having the advantage of being nearer to home should it get worse.

Just a reminder if you intend to come please print the map out (earlier in the thread) and check you're okay with the details (original post).

Cheers, and fingers crossed for Saturday.

I'm thinking about joining this.

As I have to ride up from Horley, any chance I can join at Crockham Hill, Mr  ? It would be easier for me to ride or drive across there, which makes more sense for me on the way home as well.

What time do you think you will be at Crockham Hill. About 9:40?

Probably easiest to join us at the lights after Titsey, where you do the left/right on to Limpsfield Chart and then drop down Crockham.
9.40 sounds like it might be okay and avoid either us or you waiting for more than 5 minutes.

I will be up for this one, looking to get in some big mileage before the fred next week. Have you been to that cafe in rye where they sell oversized cakes, they have battenburg that is about 4 times the size of the stuff that you buy in a packet from the supermarket.

I'm in as well, at least for the outward route. I will probably take a (rail aided!) shortcut on the way back, I have never ever cycled such a distance :D
The weather seems to be on our side too 8)
