Cyclo-cross season roll call

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

Cyclo-cross season roll call

Postby sylv » Mon Aug 22, 2005 1:43 pm

Ok, so we're four weeks away from the start of the season (first race 17th September) , who's looking forward to the mud and tears, the football pitches, the frozen fingers, the log-hopping?

There weren't many ACCers last year, who else is planning to race this year? Richard? Paul? Mark? Aodan? Simon? Kevin? Alex? Maria? Anyone
else?

Heh Sylv, nobody has met me at Addiscombe yet so I don't want to come across as a stalker but I'm well up for at least 1 a month (dependent upon Missus). I'll defo do the Addiscombe on 23rd Oct, or marshall, whatever.
I need to get out and meet you lot though!!

Wehey! I had forgotten you in the list sorry Nick.

The dates I know I will miss so far as I will be away are the 17th Sept and 23rd Oct unfortunately. But there's plenty more.

I just need to turn a pile of mountain bike parts into something suitable for cx now ...

Are you sure that photo is cyclo-cross?
Looks more like ice skating to me.

Yes, I will be doing cross for my sins - I only did 2 races last season, and I hardly did any cross country running either - winter just wasn't the same without all that mud !

I haven't decided for sure which ones I will do, but it is likely I will do all the ones near London - Eastway, Hillingdon, Deers Leap, Penshurst, Gatwick plus a couple up North.

I won't do Lancing, Dover, Rainham or Brighton etc.

Hopefully a few ladies will come out to play as well. Gr8 friendly, informal atmosphere, it's not so serious like road racing or time trialling, and it's the best way to keep warm on a cold Sunday afternoon !
