Cambridge CC 10

Postby Jon H » Sat May 02, 2009 7:48 pm

Went up to Cambridge this afternoon to ride the F2/10 course. It was a different version to the one I rode last year, starting at the other end, so going east first. Not sure which version is faster, probably much the same.

Anyway, not a great deal to report; was quite a nice warm day and not much wind. Bumped in to Colin Davies before the start; I hadn't noticed his name on the start sheet beforehand, as he's now riding for Cambridge CC.

I was hoping to do a 22 today. It was looking promising on the way out to the turn, but the last couple of miles to the finish got a bit draggy, and I just missed out with a 23:07. Colin did 24:02, and Hutchinson won with a 19:22 beating everyone else by at least a minute - looking good for the national 10 in a few weeks.

I can't see anyone beating Hutch in the Nationals, even with a few other big names in the mix (be interesting to see how Dangerfield does I can't imagine he'd have entered unless he thought he'd do well).

Good ride in a busy weekend, must have been a bit easier riding in colour.
