ACC Swim School May 7th

Postby Snoop Doug » Sun May 03, 2009 7:16 pm

Hi folks

Can we please have a show of hands for swimming this coming week? Carole needs to know numbers by end of Tuesday latest, we need five people for a class.

The class format is half hour stroke technique tuition, half hour drills/coaching. The cost is a staggeringly reasonable £5 (how does she do it  )

Venue is Legal and General head office pool, start time is 7pm. All abilities welcome.

I shan't embarrass her, but there's plenty good feedback about the class here on the forum 8) .

Cheers - Snoop

Jean and I enjoyed Carole's teaching at a private session this afternoon. Feeling more confident already! :D

Excellent lesson this evening. Due to other commitments I've only made 3 (one week on, one off etc) but can really feel progress. I ain't no dolphin but I'm not swallowing half the pool anymore and can see real progress.

This is the first time I've actually been swimming properly (although still struggling with the breathing as I have a tendency to outboard and not give myself enough time, need to slow down my stroke  ) as previous experience is running, bombing and diving about as a lightweight nipper up to the age of about 10. Not actually doing any real swimming, and I floated back then, sink by nature now.

A big thank you to Carole, super (or should that be snooper) teacher.

Another good session in the pool, though I am somewhat lacking in the arm/leg/head/breathing co-ordination department at the moment.

There is a lot more to this malarkey (apols alan) than just thrashing your arms about, but carole is an excellent instructor.

A few more dives to gain confidence thrown in as well :D

Thanks again Carole - cannot make the next couple of weeks unfortunately, but will try and get some practice time in.
