Yep - I've been trying to get Chloe to race with the men for training (as opposed to points) purposes and last night she did, confirming that it was indeed harder than anything she'd previously done and her 'lungs were hurting' from the intensity of the effort. So she'll be doing more, which will please the cake-eating Surrey League fraternity no-end as her carrot cake went like, well hot-cakes after the race :D

Im sorry but my report wont be as good as the oters, but hear goes.Huw and i made it to the race with just enough time to sign on and a quick warm up,and then of we 4ths went with glory in mind. But soon to be dashed as the rest went by on about the second lap.One bloke did try to rally us to do through and off to may be catch up to the rest, but we couldnt get it together. So i thought to myself how can i get out of doing my 2x20s this week on my own,and then it came to me ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK.So of i went.Heart rate through the roof and that was the rest of my race.Hard luck to Huw he did look pretty good going into the last sprint.Oh and thanks for the cake Cloe and the spectator support from Micelle hope you got my good side in the photos.

[quote]Don't forget about Chloe too, although she was a bit difficult to recognise in an ACC top, rather than the customary pink

I was well proud of her. She spun her legs nine times to the dozen, really going great guns in the first group. I think she was dropped about 2 laps after the Elites came through way after a load of blokes got dropped too, and then had her own group of T &O going with four other men. I won't call them gentlemen, cos they left her out to dry for the next 4 laps, every time she came round she was on the front  .

Then when her group got lapped by the fast group coming through, she was in like flynn, and was in the pack for the rest of the race. Chloe's quote of the day after that was 'Ooof, my lungs hurt'.

Nice one, a great female representation for the Addiscombe, well done Miss T :D

Nice cake, well done Huw for getting back in the mix. Look forward to trying to keep up with you on some hilly courses.

Cheers

Having ridden with Gavin he shouldn't have any probs with that - and Rob W certainly won't. I'm gonna try and get over to Hillingdon with Rob ASAP so maybe Gavin would like to join us. A couple of races there should see 'em get their licences. We need you to join the ranks of the ACC 3rd cats guys

Also it's worth pointing out that the Dunsfold tuesday series is an excellent novice racers event - the course is wide and flat so it's much safer and less intimidating than Palace for the inexperienced - and there's a very mixed bag of abilities on course all at the same time so you won't get isolated. With a few ACCers likely to be going over the coming weeks there should also be lift-shares available. So if you're thinking of taking the plunge and are a bit unsure about Palace - try Dunsfold

Racing on a circuit that throws up more of a challenge than just a flat, cornerless, baron landscape!

Besides, I doubt I'll ever beat Justin Hoy on a circuit like Dunsfold. That man is super quick.

So here at last are the results. Despite my mishap and having to carry my bike over the line I still seem to have outsprinted Gavin and Rob - which is a fantastic performance I think you'll agree, especially in light of the fact that i saw them both cross the line in the group ahead of me

Next time I'll crash out on lap 1 and see if I get a top 10. Or maybe not even turn up and get awarded the race win :D
