Alan,
Sorry, but there was a lot of discussion on earlier items that meant approaching 10:15pm we hadn't got to it.

It is top of the Agenda for the next meeting in June 8)

[quote="Alan M"][quote]Anyone going to produce some designs for the committee to consider

I think this is premature. It seems to me the stages involved in such a decision could be negotiated as follows:

1 agree in principle to delegate responsibility and give terms of reference to a small working group the purpose of which would be to undertake investigations, commission some initial design work and the formulation of costed options, one of which would be to do nothing. Alongside this determine if sponsorship is and option worth considering.

Well, I could ask my children to draw something, in crayon, just like Paul does.

2. Receive a report of the above in advance of the next appropriate meeting

they could submit a rough drawing

3. Discuss what further actions to take and inform club members of committee's decisions and proposed actions and timescale.

4. If decided to go ahead determine supplier and any other outstanding issues like supply, sizing, etc

Not sure about 3 and 4.

Note on veloriders forum they are trying to come up with a jersey for their RAS team. I think they used some online design thingy at:

Mmmmm.... thanks, forgive my snippy response but it is common practice to allocate and agree time for agenda items in order to prevent the frustration inevitable of holding over discussions to another meeting. Clearly there was some energy behind the lengthy forum discussions on this and I for one was happy to park it in the belief that it would be considered by the committee within a reasonable time frame; if one were a conspiracy theorist well........... I support the recently adopted summary of the committee's deliberations but see nothing of huge substance in the 4 points reported on that should have necessitated a failure to complete the agenda.

So reading between the lines, Alan, you're accusing the 19 club members present at the committee meeting of deliberately using delaying tactics whilst discussing the other agenda items so they would run out of time to discuss club clothing.

Isn't that what always happens in old clubs when someone, or many in some cases, want to change the kit!?

Guys - I put an honest apology up on the forum the week of the committee meeting. Exceptionally, we timed out. That's all. Nothing more, nothing less. I got something on the forum quickly. Our General Secretary has assured everyone this will be top of the agenda next time, I have no reason not to believe him.

Can we please put this to one side until the meeting? Very shortly thereafter I'm sure there will be an update.

Cheers - Snoop

With the Euro being where it is I think we should think about getting kit from somewhere that is not Euro based. And then we should get the Finance officer to hedge that currency for the foreseeable future so that we don't have any exchange rate fluctuations effecting the price of the clothing in the future. Now, I have a mate in Poland......

I think it would be cool to have something intimidating written across our arses like the Torq shorts which say things like 'Eat Me'. Maybe 'Feel the Pain', or how about, 'Give Up Slow Boy', thats a bit long though and you would need a large arse for that.

Cheers

[quote="Hal"]Personally I like our current kit, I`m proud to wear it and find riders easy to spot when racing and when around town.

There is a big finincial implication to ask members to buy a full set of new kit, even if it needs replacing after a few years.

This will lead to a few years of mutiple kits which looks a bit untidy.

Yellow is good and bright (black looks good to you but not car drivers at dusk)

I`m against the idea of sponsorship.

The idea of a retro jersey/training top is one I support.

Hal

With you 100% on all these thoughts, Hal. If it ain't broke, why change it?

Anyone asked GB's view on holding a stock of kit that they're not likely to shift if we change it :?:
