ACC evening 10, 26th May

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

ACC evening 10, 26th May

Postby Jon H » Thu May 14, 2009 1:56 pm

The next evening 10 will be on Tuesday 26th May at 7.30pm, on the Bletchingley course.

As usual entries to me by email, PM or post on this thread. I will be away over the bank holiday weekend so let me know by Thursday 21st, otherwise you'll have to take pot luck on the night.

Just a quick thanks to all - organiser, marhall, time keeper and pusher-offer. I know I'm stating the obvious but without you it couldn't happened. We've never ridden the course before. Tough but so much better than the dual carriage way of North Holmwood. And well done Alex for winning. :D

I also owe thanks to the Marshals , who also provided a "search and rescue" service when my chain broke on the course. Thanks Jon, for the lift back to the finish and to Tim for the lift home.

Well said Jon, sterling work from Tim, Joyce, and Jon to make sure we could race last night.

If you prefer that type of course to dual carriageways Jon then you and Sam should try some open Sporting TTs. There are quite a few within a reasonable radius (due to a lot of the Surrey/Sussex area being a bit lumpy). They are a bit weighted towards the beginning of the season but there are still a scattering throughout the year. Being on quieter roads there is less restriction on having to be off them by a certain time so they often start at 8 or 9am so you don't have such an early alarm call either - Also smaller fields so take less time to get everybody on their way. They range in distance from about 10 miles up to about 50 and are often odd distances so you ride to that course and the day rather than your ultimate PB (you tend to go for course PBs and field placings instead).

Give a shout if your interested in doing any.
