Obviously nobody here will actually do this, you'll just sell the car, the house, the kids and buy some over-priced carbon bling . But when challenged by your spouse / bank manager / conscience ( ), you can tell them you followed some of these tips .

And I like how their PRO TIP is just to try and haggle.

When i worked in Evans I would rather lose a sale completely than discount the bike if a discount was directly asked for.

We were quite flexible with making deals for people if we were feeling nice, but with people who come in and haggle straight away its so satisfying to just say NO

Any Evans I have been in has always offered me poor service and just a general lack of knowledge all round.

They are fine for commuters and perhaps mountain bikers (thats what most of the staff seem to know about, if anything). But if you want serious road knowledge, there are many, many better shops to frequent.

Sigma Sport, Dauphin's, GB's, Corridori etc are all in reach of most ACC members, so why go an support a souless chain which won't go anywhere near as far to helping you as the afore mentioned.

Not forgetting of course, In-Gear Cyclesport in Uckfield. Although obviously this is a little further afield for most...

Even as a commuter iv'e always had a sh!te service from evens,the staff seem uninterested in my experience
Maybe iv'e just been unlucky

The thing with Evans is they are very convenient, if you need something chances are your close to a store especially in town and their also open on Sunday's
Its not as good service as proper race bike shops but the staff do do their best.
Vote with your feet if your not happy.
