[quote="Michelle"]The video was a good idea, it really helped; Huw says his number taking was poor but mine was even worse, I was so excited I could hardly write especially after gripping the radio for the last hour.

That image of you squatting down with your notepad waiting for the finish is classic :D - did you get monty's video by email?

Wahey! I reckon you should DQ the Pearson guy for incorrect number pinnage and give the silver to PVT

Top job, four in the top 10 eh, rockin!

[quote="George"]Well done Steve the Shadow and finishing off the podium in 3rd MR PVT
4 Agreeables in the top 10
At the finish the scratch group was only 17 seconds behind Steve Shadow, I'd say that was pretty much perfect handicapping by ACC

I'd say holding us at the start until the lead car had just past us, the scratch group, didn't really give us a sporting chance of contesting the win, even with 90% of the guys working hard to try and pull it all together.

Hi yeah that was awful wasnt it, I just arrived in the car at the HQ with a load of riders across the road in front of me. not only that with the sun low and behind at that point I was completely blind to how far back the group behind was and just tried to keep the speed constant and not hit anyone. :( sorry if that ruined the race for anyone.

  oooooh I hope those grapes don't taste sour. Alternatively perhaps the the thirds really got their act together (most of the ACC mob are strong enough to be 2nd cats) and that was the deciding factor. As an ex ACC man, be happy for us Dave. :D Was that Dan Santoni at the finish?

I too have been grinning about this one all day. Was a great race, we all got really stuck in. I was feeling pretty strong this week and did have a couple of attacking moments. Was good fun cruising past the 3V group and calling for a bit of help from Paul T, which he decided to ignore.

I messed up my sprint by going too early, again, and led out Mr Tunnel instead. That sly old dog certainly knows where to put himself for the sprint. Really enjoyed it and great to have so much support around the circuit. Steve's final sprint was fantastic, timed to perfection and showed everyone a clean pair of heels.

Cheers

Marek...

Congratulations to Steve and Mr PVT and all involved.

I can't believe Mr PVT got a podium. Everytime he came past me he looked really relaxed to the point of waving and then trying to run over my toes. I was standing on the other side of the road

Sly old fox indeed

Thanks for the kind (I think) words of encouragement from everyone. I was concentrating on getting a result in our own promotion, and was waiting for Adam for a lead out :?

I saw Steve moving up on the last lap just after the bell, and followed him through until the last corner, when a second's lapse of concentration and a rider had pushed me off, so the shadow was on the inside and I was stuck on the outside. Marek was giving it some stick, outpacing KK on his motorbike :!: , and he is another good wheel to follow. Unfortunately he faded towards the line and once in launch mode, I was chasing Steve, and from too far back was actually gaining on him, but too late - still pleased enough with 3rd place.

Great organisation George.

THE HANDICAP
I do not feel that an apology is needed, as I followed the timings that I used last year which saw all the groups coming together on the last lap - and anyone complaining ought to try doing it themselves first, BUT I do hold my hands up and say that with the benefit of hindsight I would have done things differently. The reason being that I didn't take into account that we were really overweight on the lower categories, and on a flat course, the elite group, which was also weaker (no disrepect to the riders - just a generalisation) than other weeks, does not have such an advantage as on a hilly one. I did give George instructions to send them off as soon as he saw the lead car coming, and I will offer an apology for that bit of confusion. I am continuing to learn and trust me I will get it spot on - hopefully next time.

Well done Steve - a popular winner with ACC no doubt

Sounds like it was the 10% that were not the sporting ones.

Is third place going to be disqualified for being on the wrong side of the road?

I set all the groups off over 30 seconds up on MR PVT's handicapping so really they should have waited a even while longer to start.
As soon as I saw the lead car coming I had to let the scratch group off over 40 seconds before their handicap.
Maybe Ingear development team need a little more practice in working together, but like Paul says it was a weaker scratch group than usual.
