This was part of the hillingdon triathlon held over at the harefield outdoors activity centre near denham
Basically when the triathletes crawled out of the murky looking lake all us non swimmers set of with them on the run which was a swim-run bike instead of the usual swim bike run
The race kicked off at 7.30 am and iT was already getting nice and warm by the time we finished the 6K run which i came into transition in 2nd place just behind jez cox, either i was running very well for me or he was slower than usual
Onto the 26k bike course which was 2 laps of mainly traffic free roads. Managed to keep jez cox within my sights for the 1st lap but by the 2nd lap he was well out of sight
Finished with a sprint finish and crossed the line in 2nd place for the duathlon but well over a minute from the winner in the end which was quite alot considering one of the marshells said i was only 18 secs behind on the 1st lap!
Still,i got to race my new specialised transition pro for the 1st time
Cheers
Carl
