It's not. I was referring to the fact that the writer chooses to include it in a list of three things, the other two being negative things/nuisances, and holds it up as a contrast to the pleasant quaintness of the street Witcomb's is/was on. From this it's clear that he feels multiculturalism is a negative thing/nuisance. Would you not agree?

Nah. Just looks like journalistic scene-setting to me. Interesting that's where Ben Serotta learned his trade though.

That's the point I'm making. It's a pretty tired and clichéd opening to what is otherwise a reasonably interesting article. The journo just can't resist turning his nose up.
