Carl the start is in Spook Hill, North Homwood near Dorking. - Map.
The start line is at the south end just before joining the A24 and you sign in and collect your number there from Joyce/Tim. After you finish make your way up to the car park on the bend at the top of Inholms Lane (left off Spook Hill) as that's where people park, and get ready, and the results are given out afterwards.
The course is down the A24, straight over (2nd exit) the first RAB (Beare Green) and then turn at the second RAB (Capel, which is a long lozenge shaped RAB), then you retrace back up the A24 over Beare Green RAB and continue down the A24. The finish will be marked by a chequered flag and Tim sitting by the road side timekeeping
(behind the barrier) but it is on the A24 so no turn off, just past Spook Hill on the other side of the road.
The course is a straight up and down DC, but it is a bit draggy in places. Just after the start there is a drag up which has a horrible (and slow) road surface of the new chippings variety. After that it dips and drags out to the turn but nothing too bad. On the return leg there are a couple of places where it drags up a bit more nastily. Once up to where the restaurant is and then again shortly before the finish, but that does mean you get a flying downhill finish. It's not sporting though and a big ring blast all the way, you just use more of your cassette than on flatter courses.
I'm going to drive straight down from work to help out but could give you a lift home if you need it.
