Palace - 9th june

Thought it was cancelled? - Not a bit of it

The boys (who can rarely be trusted to stay upright even in dry conditions) were sent home due to a damp bottom bend (which sounds like an embarrassing bowel disfunction). But in an act of desperation Chloe, who's so close to 2nd cat she can taste those last few points, used her feminine charms (and a low-cut cycling vest) on the commissaire to secure an official, short-course race round the top section of the course. Amazingly (where commissaires and race officials are involved) they saw perfect logic in Chloe's argument that all the girls present were bang up for it, and with so few racing opportunities afforded the women these days why not? They conceded that with all lap scorers and a commisaire in place there was no reason not to go ahead AND award points in the normal fashion. It's not often you say good work fellas to race officials but 'GOOD WORK FELLAS!"

So, a high speed 15-lap thrash ensued... as usual most of the other girls fell off allowing Chloe to get 2nd, safe-garding the points needed to attain 2nd cat :D :D :D

It's taken ten races not counting handicaps:
09.06.2009 Crystal Palace Cycle League 8 (Regional C+) 2nd 8
06.06.2009 BC South East Region Womens RR Championships (Women Only) 13th 3
02.06.2009 Crystal Palace Cycle League 7 (Regional C+) 3rd 7
19.05.2009 Crystal Palace Cycle League 5 (Regional C+) 8th 2
17.05.2009 Surrey League Road Race (VC St Raphael) (Regional C+) 1st 10
12.05.2009 Crystal Palace Cycle League 4 (Regional C+) 5th 5
25.04.2009 Surrey League Road Race (Women Only) 4th 6
22.03.2009 Omega Thruxton Circuits (Women Only) 9th 2
01.03.2009 Surrey League Road Race (London Dynamo) (Women Only) 5th 0
01.03.2009 Surrey League Road Race (London Dynamo) (Women Only) 5th 2

well done chloe, but glad I didn't bother going, as I arrived home at 6pm a short sharp shower of abour 5 minutes meant the course would be damp and drying conditions weren't great yesterday. So did some hill reps this morning prior to the mad commute into work today, that traffic was mad!

there was no Low cut top to mention !!! just a very short paire of shorts and 4 missrible looking girls keen to race.

Anyway now i can retire and go running and swimming and enjoy a bit of everything.

Then with a good winter training and a years more bike handling experiences I will be out fighting next year .
