Utter chaos on the roads today - think Cairo only with more bikes - but I didn't see any carnage. This despite cyclists passing gridlocked traffic on the inside and the outside, in between, up the pavements - you name it. And of course the poor old red lights got dissed in a big way.

Actually, the biggest increase I noticed today was not in pedal cyclists, but in scooters and motorbkes.

More cars, mopeds/scooters, and bicycles. No real difference until Walworth road when the volume of vehicles picked up a lot.

Pretty much but my route in was only dodgy once I got to the Elephant and Castle. That stretch from there to London Bridge had some interesting riding. Mind you I think it was a bit brown trousers for a few who only normally roll around the park at 5-10mph with the kids to be trying to dive in to the traffic flow around the Elephant and Castle.

Well, I'd booked today off over a week ago :D

The only problem was that I'd taken up Graham B's offer of a midweek ride (an excuse for him to avoid marking exam papers...). Thought we'd caught a break in the weather.... a few miles into the Dulwich loop we turned for home, hot tea and chocolate biscuits. We could barely see where we were going and we were absolutely soaked! I've never wrung out my socks before

Fortunately Graham took pity on me and didn't make me put my cold wet socks, armwarmers, shoes and waterproof back on and drove me home with the heating on full.

I also got to play with a couple of friendly puddy cats :D

I'm now off to GBs in a bit to pick up a new Addie top.
