A women's road Bike £1000-£1400

Postby Toks » Wed Jun 10, 2009 2:25 pm

Hi guys and girls, Neelam from JFF/15s groups want to trade in her slick hybrid for a woman's or if pushed small mens road bike. Can anyone recommend one that she can go and test ride in London ideally. She doesn't want any girly pinky/purple colours. Cheers

More constructively ....the massive evans sales is on down at Gatwick, she’s sure to pick up a deal and i’m pretty sure they let you have a good go.

Or the Evans branch at Waterloo, the roady one, where the staff seem clued up

sure, but there are some huge savings at the warehouse sale. there seemed to be a lot of small/ladies bikes there when I looked too. They had quite a bit of plowman craven team bikes going very cheap too.

My 2p.

Make sure (I'm sure you will from what you've posted above) that she is not seduced by brand names, pretty colours and/or flashy stickers (including 98% off! ). Ensure that she test rides each of the candidate bikes properly - I mean at least 1/2 hour on each one, not just sitting on it in the shop. Then buy the one that fits best.

The bike that doesn't fit will never be a bargain. The "pricey" bike that fits, and that she enjoys riding will be a great investment.

Money spent on contact points is rarely wasted either.
