Upcoming MTB rides (provisional list)

Postby higg » Mon Jun 08, 2009 11:58 pm

Below are some ideas for off-road rides in the next few weeks.

Just to guage interest, could I get a show of hands as to who might be interested in coming along and I will publish with more definite arrangements. Or if you have any other suggestions let me know.

As a rough guide, these are 3-4 hrs ride time including waiting at the top of hills, add 15-20mins for lunch/break.

Do people wear their Yellow addiscomb jerseys on this or is it a much more casual affair?

Ok, more details about Wivelsfield loop, how about meeting at 8.45 at Coulsdon for a 9.00 depart by car/van. That would get us to Wivelsfield around 9.30. There is also a train leaving East Croydon at 8.54 that gets to Wivelsfield at 9.30. For a 3-4 hour ride with a quick stop in Brighton we should be back in cousldon 1.30-2pm.

It looks like it's just Al and me for the South Downs ride tomorrow.

If anybody changes their mind then PM me this evening and we can arrange lifts (Coulsdon 9.00am) or else meet at Wivelsfield station at 9.30.

Hi Snoop
I do fancy a bit of off road this weekend so will probably bring the MTB with fat tyres down to CSS for 9am, what is the little Switzerland route (obviously I know Box Hill) and will I die if I do it with knobblies.

No you won't mate. It's actually an on road route tho bits can be a tad gritty little lane-y. It's about 25 mile round trip so not too long, steady fun chatty kind of ride. Marco has stuck a copy of the route in the routes section and I will prob get a bit lost tomorrow

I'll be there unless it's peeing down and we can go from there or do the off road cr if that transpires, flexible
