[quote="Snoop Doug"]I reckon I can navigate a fairly decent route via back of Merstham, Copthorne, Rowfant, West Hoathly, yada yada Lindfield, H Heath...Ditchling. I think I can....could be a larf in the dark mind you

It's the dark bit that's important  . Even fairly major B roads can be a bit tricky to find if they aren't lit, and pothole avoidance can be an issue.

[quote="Andrew G"]I agree Ivor but I couldn't find that route in the dark, we had PVT and his internal sat-nav last time. If Paul can make it then we can do that (or another of his million routes) again or like I say if someone else can navigate those roads at night then good, the beacon was fun at night. Otherwise the one I put would be easier to find where we go.

Snoop we averaged 17mph on both the out and back legs last time.

I'm on the case

I refer the jury to the IOW debacle (as its become known) of 2007 when the right honorable gentleman took us down the wrong road within minutes of our departure.
This occurred in bright sunshine and doesn't bode well for our chances of getting to Brighton under the cover of night by anything other than a circuitous route.
He also has too much of a fondness for Eastbourne for my liking and I can quite imagine ending up in this godless backwater at some unimaginable hour of the morning.

Frankly, any wise man would be tucked up in bed :D

Isn't night time meant for sleeping and daytime meant for riding. What happens in Brighton at 3.30am that you need to get down there for that time?

Cheers

Marek...

Oh you're no fun anymore Marek.

Based on last year when 4 men dressed head to toe in soggy lycra walked in to the cafe and no one batted an eyelid I'd say pretty much anything goes.

Would be nice to see the sun come up from either the seafront or the top of Ditchling Beacon, something we missed out on last year due to the weather being annoyingly English and enveloping us in a cloud most of the way there and back.

Meet PVT at the shop on the corner about 1.45am
Remaining route: PVT to lead us through the lanes and over Ditchling :D . (Cheers Paul).
