Car Hire

Postby Paul on the Pearson » Tue Jun 23, 2009 10:38 pm

Might dust off that pink bit of paper I got back when I was 19. I've actually got two, will have to phone the DVL whatever its called to find out which one I cancelled when I thought I lost it, the licence that is, not the plot  Anyway any one got any suggestions for a decent car hire (the r's next to the t on the keyboard so just in typed "cat" hire by mistake, not the same thing; don't think you even need a license for that!) company etc etc? Was thinking of driving down to sunny Devon for the new Two Moors sportive which startrs about 4 miles from my mum and dads house. 10,000 feet of climbing over Exmoor and Dartmoor.
PS This is not the first time I've driven since I past my test

If you want to impress your mum and dad try http://www.astonexperience.co.uk/ourfleet.html
£1800 for a V12 Vanquish for a 4 day weekend; reduced from £2200 so it's an absolute bargain

It's Avis every time for me Jon. They may be a few quid dearer than a bucket shop, but always had first class no quibble service from them.

I use Enterprise and have always got on well with them, if you can put up with the "American" style service.

http://www.carhire3000.com are a broker that normally get decent rates too....

Not much of a bargain. The last hire car I had in the UK was one of these http://www.classic-touring.co.uk/cars/a ... 000-mkiii/. At £640 for 72 hours you can't go wrong. Keep the hood down and you might even get your bike in it  .

I hired the Bentley from there for Ian's 21st birthday and despite it being about 20 foot long and 8 foot wide, still couldn't get a bike in the boot
