Old Ports Reliability Ride in the summer.

Anyone out there fancy doing the old ports reliabiity route a week on Saturday (4th July). Suggest leaving at 8.00 to 8.30 or so from GB's. Its a really cool route which goes out via Pilgrims Way, Penshurst, Groombridge and Fordcombe and goes up to the top of ashdown forest. Route back is pretty direct via Edenbridge and over toys hill. In previous years, the signposts have been left out so its quite an easy route to follow.

All told, its supposed to be 100K or so, but we will need to add a litttle as we would be going from Croydon....

Let me know...Its a hard route on your own, so hopefully someone will be up for joining me...

Thats cool....Anyone else out there interested in this.

If we can get away early, we should be back at the usual time. It really is worth the effort, as ashdown forest is probably as near as you can get to proper countryside within reach of london....

I reckon that it will be average of 17 / 18 or so, and we will ride as a group and stick together....

OK..looks like its carl and myself at the moment. Carl - You'll have to take it easy with me !!!

Suggest that we now meet at the swan in west wickham at 08.00 on Saturday, as gb's is slightly out of our way...

No need for that; take your cat with you.

Not the full thing no. Depending on the time I get back from Brighton if it coincides with your likely departure I'll swing back through West Wickham and join you for the first bit and then cut up to home from Pilgrims Way - this is the one that heads along Pilgrims Way from Halstead towards Titsey isn't it?

If I'm not there then the time didn't tie up, or I came to my senses and went straight home  .

word of warning on this since I'm pretty sure (given the signposts I saw this morning) part of it runs on my commute, just here:
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=51.312025,-0.00133&daddr=&hl=en&geocode=&mra=dme&mrcr=0&mrsp=0&sz=15&sll=51.312025,-0.001287&sspn=0.012796,0.027251&ie=UTF8&z=15
there's a pile of rubble in the road (it even has cones around it!). hopefully someone will tidy it up a bit, but you'll have to be careful if it's still there.
