CR 27th June

Phew what a scorcher!

3 of us took the mostly shady route out to Box Hill via Little Switzerland. Lovely conversation, great steady pace. Sandy tipped us the wink and pointed out a small divert which missed a grungy, rough lane. Comfort break @ top of Box Hill, then back to Walton on the Hill for a truly top drawer cappucino and bacon sarnie. Cake and tea looked v good and, they had ice cream (tempted but not this time...).

We were rolling for around 2 hours 20 minutes and covered about 25 miles. It's a great fun tidy ride. I'm going to look to see where I can add on about another 10 miles to satisfy folk who might like a bit longer in the saddle.

I'll try to post a bit earlier next time I intend to do this one. It's great for just chilling out and having a damn good natter, oh yeah, and a bike ride 8)

Thanks to Chris L and Sandy for such an enjoyable morning.

As I write this the cat is so hot she's lying upside down beside me - soooo cute! But I hate heatwaves, they make my flat like a small sauna

Back to today - I am so improved on form from 6 months ago that I should make my target of being back in the 19s before the end of summer :D

Great ride with the second 18s group though someone was rather annoying  Even the new helmet was bearable!

Intend to be out next Saturday then I'm off for two weeks for strength training in Scotland (aka as touring  )

Now for a small glass of wine

Thanks guys. All I can say is it's down to determination, some discipline and not a little help from my friends :D

You know who you are - thanks for putting up with me while I got back up to strength.

Anyway, still room for improvement - need to get my speed and stamina built up.

Once I come back from Scotland I'll try and do a couple of longer rides too - Amberley is a good one and I've an idea for one down to the coast somewhere via Steyning Bowl :D

I was down by Amberley this Saturday just gone before I joined the club run on my return journey back home.

Steyning Bowl know it very well will have to show Marky Mark Mark that climb one day.

You can tell when they are really steep, they have stairs for paths!.

Well done Amy on the come back, you've done really well.

Is that Bostal Road? Always meant to climb it, so far only gone from the other side in Steyning as that's the 1st of the Brighton Mitre Hill Climbs.
