Beastway help required

Postby Grahame » Tue Jun 30, 2009 8:59 am

It's our Beastway promotion on 15th July. This year we are based at the Redbridge Cycling Centre, AKA Hog Hill.

This is a popular marshalling event for the road racers most years as it doesn't appear to clash with any road races or crits.

Races start at 7:30pm and last for 45 minutes plus a lap, so will be finishing by 8:30pm.

We need to provide marshals and lap scorers. Marshals may also be asked to help dismantle the course marking.

I think we will need about 8 marshals plus 2 lap scorers, so we need 10 volunteers (more are welcome).

If you can get there by 7pm, we should be OK, but the earlier you can get there the better. I'll be on site from 3pm helping to "build" the course. If you help build the course, bring a mountainbike (or cross bike) and if we have enough marshalls you can have a free race.

Please show yourselves as volunteers below, or contact Snoop or me offline.

As Snoop has said elsewhere, if we don't get enough volunteers to help with our club's commitments, we will have to allocate names to events on a ballot (ie draw names out of a hat). We don't want to do that, but we will if we have to.

There will be cake. And we usually go to a pub afterwards.

Grahame, I'll be there in the evening for marshalling. I hope to race in the previous round (8th) - i've entered the Nationals a week or so later but haven't raced off road since February!!
