SCCU 100

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

From a thread on the time trialling forum the above is the revised course for this year's SCCU 100. It cuts out some of the dog legs and means you don't have to ride past the HQ at 90 miles for that sh***y loop before the end. Still not the fastest course in the world though

Anybody else doing it?

I've entered.

I think this will be a better (safer) course because it eliminates the bits where we had riders going both ways on single carriageway roads. Whether it's a better (faster) course remains to be seen; I think that section through Ashurst could be a bit of a slog.

That's nearly enough to tempt me to enter....I said I wouldn't ride the old course again.

It is a bit lumpy through Ashington, but the road through Ashurst is a nice country lane (we rode up there on the night ride)

Yep, I've entered too. Not sure about the passing HQ bit though as I think it'll be a different one this year as they were/are rebuilding Dial Post village hall.

I actually quite liked passing the HQ near the end, not the lumpy loop but passing through an area busy with cyclists - not to mention the excellent support from the already finished ACC riders - gave me a bit of a lift.
