What about Carlos at 16/1, is he in bad form at the moment, seems like quite long odds on someone that has won the Tour in the past.

Cheers

Marek....

Evans is now 15/2 so coming in a bit, I think Sastre (now 14/1) will be scuppered by the long TT but Menchov at 14/1 looks a decent e/w bet.

How about Menchov - time the double was done again!

Re: Evans - I'll give you odds on by the third week he'll have spat out his antipodean dummy, threatened to assualt atleast half a dozen journo's/fans for daring to look at his bike/dog/girlfriend (delete as applicable), implode in to a paranoid loner (even within his own team....he hardly sounded motivated at having Wegelius as a replacement for druggie Dekker....great leadership Cadel, mate!).

I really hope Sastre wins, was never really a fan, but atleast it'll p*ss off Astana, Saxo Bank and the UCI in one fell swoop.

C'mon you Brits though.........and Oscar Pereiro (hopefully finally proving what the team could achieve if they forgot about Valverde, how did Pereiro ever put up with dragging Valverde's sorry, sulking arse up half of those climbs for 3 weeks a year?!).

Ta ta

Cadel Evans provides excellent entertainment value. Something about him makes me want to punch him firmly (but not too hard) in the face just to hear what sort of squeaky reaction it would create.

I've actually always had a bit of soft spot for Evans, ever since I had a chance meeting with the late John Ibbo at Dauphins in September 2005 (I think this was the last time I actually spoke with him). After taking the mickey out of the bicycle pyjamas that Dauphin's had for sale, we started looking at shoes. John was in trouble with his fiancee for spending too much on some swanky new cycling shoes (he'd done the normal man-thing of telling his better half they were quite a lot less than they actually were, but had still been told off). I then pointed out the sort of new shoes that I had very recently purchased. John was quick to highlight that they were the same brand used by Cadel Evans' team and suggested it reaveled a lot about me - much to John's mirth. The joke was actually a bit lost on me (I didn't even know who Cadel Evans was).....which seemed to make it even funnier.... In fact, if anyone can explain to me whether it was a complement or a p*ss take, maybe you can PM me! Having said that, I quite enjoy not really knowing....

.....with the third placed Italian testing positive 3 months later for an as yet undetectable 85th generation of EPO.

Mindyou if Menchov should be feeling the heat, how come Kloden's still smirking away (?!).....and whilst we're at it let's get all those previous winners exhumed and retro tested if we're going to do these things properly......where's Gripper and the boys and girls from the UCI when you need them?

TDF, love it!.....bring on the circus :D !!!!
