Speed, Skill and Sausages 2

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

I was in Butlers on Saturday and a guy who was at Herne Hill in the morning said he saw the couriers practising on the track, said they were all over the place! Probably think they're on London streets! Could make for some interesting viewing ...

I'll be the 'Human Derny' in the Kieren race(s).
Basically everyone does one flying lap & the fastest 18 times go into 3x6 man heats where i'll be the pacer. I do 2.5 laps on the front, gradually increasing the speed until i'm almost going flat out, pull over & they go hell for leather for the last 250m!
The first two in each heat go thru to the final.

The reason being is that there are too many risks & insurance hurdles if we get the derny out, plus they have to pay the guy to ride it...... It's easier just to get some muppet (me) to do it

This event is very well organised with over £1500 worth of prizes including 3 new frames (Dolan I think) & a shed load of accessories as prizes. I've been getting my girlfriend prepared for this for the last two months, the plan being she wins every race :D

It'll be a great day with loads to see, plus a massive jumble sale. Oh, and a BBQ :D :D :D :D :D

I'm planning on looking in on this after the Circuit of Kent ride. I think I will have worked up an appetite to make the most of the BBQ.

Also want to catch Sophie picking up the trophies !

Stevefunkster

Glad you're showing an interest in our event, even if it is to come down and check to see if your prejudices are justified.....

The Courier community is very mixed, as I'm sure you'll discover.

Looking forward to seeing you, be sure to introduce yourself to me, don't worry I will have had a bath.
