Although mentioned above, seriously I think that adding music and potentially dancing (to attract the WAGs and HABs) will make the evening more of a rounded social event for everybody. Something like a Ladies Night where we give something back to our partners who have put up with our cycling for the rest of the year.

This year we managed to finish the formalities fairly early and if we got an extension to 1:00am I think that it would be a reasonible amount of time to pull this off.

Good idea Alex, there are amongst us a couple of DJ's, myself included, who could spin a few tunes but I think if a live band could be put together then it would be far more entertaining. I'm more than happy to pitch in with this and give it a go and see if we can get the right people intersted to have a jam session and see what develops.

Sorry for the hijack.

Seriously guys n gals, the music scene can be sorted later, but we are under pressure to confirm the venue.

I went to Wotton a couple of weeks ago, and it was a lovely venue, I would say it is a bit more upmarket than SPH and IMHO would make a nice change.

Snoop has done some costings for a (50 seater) coach to and from East Croydon (other pick ups to be negotiated) at a (subsidised) cost of £5 per head.

Please add your comments........this is by the members for the members, so let us know what you want.

As a relative newbie and having not attended this year's dinner I have stayed away from voting - but it seems to have gone quiet ...

My vote is for Wotton House - and a return ticket on the coach .... picking up from Purley ....

Thanks for your interest Mark F,

I'll book you a place

You're right it's gone quiet - only 22 votes when 100 plus attend the dinner

The committee met last week and decided that if we could get the transport sorted (which I believe we have)then we will book Wotton House for the next club dinner and prize presentation, and if it doesn't work out, we can revert to plan B the year after.

I emailed in reply to the original mailshot, before seeing the poll, didn't want to be double counted.

[quote="Sean Hogan - 何祥"]How many of the 100 who came were members? How many were partners? I reckon the 20+ so far is fairly representative. :D

You mean to say that "partners" are not members.....sign them up dam quick :P

All, just to throw a spanner in the works, the company I work for use Wotton House as a training venue, meetings facilities etc. Unfortunately due to the consistently bad service our company has received which includes poor service generally, many complaints around food and also accommodation they are reviewing other venues in the area. :(

Thanks for that Rob - too late though - already booked.

I am sure they will put on a good effort for us though. :P
