I know Lance will do his upmost to win because in his head he still thinks he's top dog and his ego won't let anyone but him be team leader. I think he's definitely got the sharpeness and experience to react at the right time (demonstrated on Stage 3) but I just don't think he's got enough in the tank to beat Contador....
I do like Lance but would love to see his reaction if Contador destroys him in the hills......

Having studied psychology for years, I know this one.
He will cry like a girl and pee his pants. After the Tour he will endorse a famous sugary snack which he will proceed to devour copious quantities of. He will grow so large that by next years Tour, he will be an HC climb in his own right.

Trust me on this...
I've heard of this... isn't the psychology term known as "Bert Grabsch Syndrome"?

Just to be in the position he is in after his come back after retirement is a massive feat alone. No matter what you think of him, you cant but admire his will to compete and win.

lance is a legend he has it and he's keeping it a very closely guarded secret until the mountains, you can see the power when he's riding, he was faster over the line on sat than cancellara for speed that is, and as he says he's won the tour de france 7 times, he knows how to play the game very well! awesome to watch!
[quote="marco"]Its early days but I find it highly doubtful that someone can come back after a break that long, at that age, with a V02max of (just!) 85 and ride clean day after day in the high mountains to beat a young rider who has recently won the Tours of France, Italy and Spain (a feat the older rider never accomplished) . I think it doesnt add up and that something would be seriously amiss if it ever did happen.
Then again I've never seen a certifiable miracle and therefore Armstrong feels sorry for me. Maybe if he does win the current Pope can verify it.
love it ! im with marco..... I only believe in the miracle of modern doping techniques

Hes only 37 and he has always kept himself ticking over so its no surprise to me that he has kept most of his fitness.
Lance trains hard and pushes himself to the max which is something neither of you 2 can do so I am not surprised you cannot understand how he can do it clean.
I dont think he will win but would love it if he did.
There is actual physical evidence which can easily be proved in court if need be that he trains hard which is something you do not have to back up your comments.
Ive always been suspicious of Roche. Being taken to hospital after a stage is not a normal response and probably means he was on drugs like amphetamines.
