Sorry Slyv, no room at the inn. Three blokes and three bikes already...

Anyway, here;s a request, does anyone have a big flag that I could borrow? A union jack would be cool not so interested in rainbow flags, whatever anyone says!

You're welcome to a loan of my marshalling Jolly Roger flag. It's big - not massive, just big. Yarrrrr

Cheers snoop, not going to get a chance to pick it up though. This week has been manic! Anyway, we leave today and will have a big UN flag with us. Keep an eye out...

It was all getting a bit controversial yesterday...was Cav's DQ fair? Were yesterday's stage organisers lacking in their layout of the finish and similarly lacking in integrity to accept they were a major part of any the issues ('perceived issues') in the sprint? Was Hushovd engineer of his own problem by expecting a clean run up the inside? Or was Cav simply being naughty :?:

Will Armstong try and persuade the Astana boys to somehow do right by Big George today? Will Big George have the stength be in contention for today's stage, even if the Astana boys chose to let him take the win? Too many questions....

I'm kind of hoping for more scandal today..... A fist fight in the peloton would make great TV..... George punches Lance clean on the nose; Cav flattens Hushovd, folllowed by a mass brawl. Last man standing is the winner!

[quote="marco"]You've got to hand it those guys; Riis, Pantani, Armstrong, Ullrich and Leblanc were the most natural and gifted climbers ever!

strange though that the one man who had an incredibly high VO2MAX , Lemond, doesn't feature on there. Maybe these guys hearts were just 30% bigger or something.

So if we rule out Riis, Pantani, Armstrong, Ullrich and Leblanc, the numbers still show that Schleck, Nibali, Schleck, Wiggins and Sastre all set the next highest recorded VAMs apart from Contador. All presumably much better climbers than that other natural and gifted climber and multiple KOM winner Virenque who doesn't even appear on the chart.

[quote="marco"]I'm not sure where that gets inferred?

It wasn't inferred anywhere. I worked out Contador's total time for the climb from his VAM and the height gain, then worked out the other guys' VAM figures based on the time difference between Contador and them, and they're well up in the 1770 to 1800 region.

Proof, were it needed, that Ullrich was more partial to the odd pie than Pantani.
