Chippenham & District Wheelers 25 - 26 July

Postby SteveD » Mon Jul 27, 2009 9:42 am

I went for a rare Sunday morning bash on the U46B Swindon course this weekend hoping to get a fast time. Unfortunately the wind was blowing and, worse, in the words of Jon Hemming, I was rubbish. The only good bit was the first few hundred yards down the slip road start, after that I simply could not get anything out of my legs at all and just felt terrible. I seemed to be going 1-2 mph slower in both directions than my previous rides on these roads. I thought about packing it in several times but pressed on to record 1:00:57 - not my slowest 25 this year but easily my worst performance.

That's my last race for a while - my next cycling target is my LEJOG rode in the first couple of weeks in August.

Good luck with the LEJOG Steve. The race in to the wind was a good strength work out for that anyway.

Hoping I was going to see you on Sat. But let us know how it goes on the Lands end ride.

Good luck
