OK folks - having recce'd the downs and CP Park and done some consultation I am going with CP as the venue for this get together. It's much more suitable for kids (this is a members, families and friends get together including les enfants), big and small. There's plenty of shade from the trees over t'other side from the concert bowl and that's also a good area to play games should folk want to.

Beyond that I don't intend to organise much at all. BYO food and drink, maybe sort a few games out for little and big kids, maybe organise a walk to the dinosaurs but really, this is a chance to just meet up, have a blether, a drink, an eat and just chill out.

Reminder - 2nd August (weather dependent of course). Suggest we meet from 12.30 onwards. I will put this in the next Lanterne Rouge.

Here's hoping for a sunny day 8)

Also (and not a lot of people know this) you ARE allowed to ride your bike on the track at Palace even when there's no racing on, as long as you observe a 15mph speed limit.

So we could run some kind of racing for entertainment - a chain-less bike race comes to mind, not much fun initially but after a couple of Merlots it'd be probably be quite funny seeing people trying to get up the hill, especially after 20 laps :D

We were going to be at a wedding that weekend, but it's been, er, 'postponed' so we'll be there.

I feel a Pimms coming on :D .
