Cyclist attacked in West Ewell

Postby Amy » Wed Aug 19, 2009 8:47 am

Don't know what sort of cyclist yet - you know, what reporters are like - but still bad. All it says at the mo, was a 39 yr old man from Epson was attacked last night around 9.30 by 4 youths in their 20s...

[quote="Sean Hogan - 何祥"]I always thought it was Ewell West.

That's just the station name. An attempt (vain) to make West Ewell sound more exotic - like Interlaken-Ost or Hilversum-Zuid.

We used to play a team called West Ewell in the Epsom and District Parks League (under-10s). From what I can remember, there was nothing that glamorous about the place - except the station name, of course.

That reminds me - here's a joke:

- I'm stuck on the last clue in my crossword. The clue is 'overladen postman'.
- How many letters?
- F***ing thousands!

Pretty much just down the road from me this, and I was cycling back from Palace at the same time, guess I was lucky... :?

That place was on our old wireless. Rubbish reception though.

Thanks, Adam, nice to see someone taking this seriously. The first thing I thught when I heard it, was whether it was anyone I knew and the fact that it happened in a place I've cycled through many a time. I didn't think it was high crime, problem area in particular.

If you go to the Surrey police website, there's the full information and it has been in the papers today. Last time I looked it was still being treated as attempted murder.

Yeah, the area is ok, but the local school has something of a reputation for not producing the best leavers. But who knows what all this was about...

Saw this on the news, shocking but all to common, innocent people attacked by mindless bastards. Want their f*cking legs chopping off when they get caught.
