Club Run 22nd August

Flippin' hell, no CR for me again this week (family wedding) and not next week either....my gawd, that'll be no show for 4 weeks! Will try and get a few mid week rides in the week after next, after return from week trip oop north visiting family....

(....recent tales of woe/excuses - baby has cold, baby gives me cold, I give cold back to baby, wrist still sprained from recent bike prang, made redundant last week....oh joy!)

Well that was good. my first CR for six weeks and one of only half a dozen I've ridden all year but boy was it good. Why? well my group of 17s led by Phil Nash and Tim Coles was bl**dy brilliant. Not the usual slowing, speeding up, slowing, braking (after some CRs my hands are sore from constant braking - I kid you not), speeding up, slowing down, braking etc etc. No, this was SMOOTH, and I mean SMOOOOOOTH!!!.

Good fast but steady pace, good 'rider discipline', lots of 'talk' - hole left, easy, hole right - the whole ride was an absolute joy.

More please!!!

As Amy said it can be anyone who shouts out. To be honest I don't like just sitting there shouting like a teacher (no offence ) but also most people within a fairly short while should and do know this (VCs do say). I think it's just a bit of concentration slip from time to time.

Get 'em all on fixed that will stop the freewheeling . If you want to freewheel you may as well just sit in a chair.

No offence taken, Andrew, it's a well known fact that the main reason teachers become teachers is so that they can shout at and bully little people (no offence, Andrew ). It's just such great fun.

hmmm, anyway joking apart, not sure I was suggesting that anybody shouts at anybody else really - far from it - can't imagine that's a pleasant experience for shouter or shoutee. i think I'd just like the SMOOOOOTH 17mph CR ride I had Saturday to be the norm rather than the exception which I hate to say (because it sounds like I'm being critical) but I think is true.
