President's 10

Thanks to Jon, Joyce, and Tim for running the Club 10s (and all their helpers) which finished for the year with today's President's 10. A real shame that numbers were lower than previous years, come out next year folks it's only as serious as you want to make it.

A mild day but a very windy return leg, the drags on the way back in to the wind were a real slog. With that in mind not a bad showing with 24.24 and 3rd place on scratch. Sylv continued to prove he's brilliant at anything on a bike with a phenomenal mid 22 in tough conditions to win scratch and handicap (he won't get that next year as he's no sandbag time to call on now ). Jon ran Sylv close for ride of the day with a low 25 "old skool" on his retro fixie.

My Dad got today's bike ride in by riding out to Holmwood through the lanes and then being race photographer. Got a bit lost in the lanes so missed the earlier starters as he just had time to grab his camera as Sylv was clipping in.

Bit blowy eh! Had to get out of the saddle on the last two return hills as it felt like I was doing under 20mph. Good ride by John! Thanks for the photos Roy/Andrew, got some work to do on my position .. Thanks to all who helped. My ride - http://connect.garmin.com/activity/13123049

Went to reccy the Leith Hill climb after that - my legs were like planks of wood! It's not all that steep visually but all I could manage was spinning up it twice slowly in my lowest gear. Oh and I finally bought an ACC skinsuit.

It was good to watch the TT, I was helping not just standing around!

Weather was nice and sunny so I went for a ride on the way home. FIrst to the cafe for a bacon butty. Then on to Peas Pottage to get some spares for the car, then back to Coulsdon buy which time I was shattern and had to stop for a sausage roll, before getting back to croydon. It has been almost 2 months since I have ridden this far and I was really tired when I got home but my achilies tendon was ok

Watching the racing next week at Hillingdon.
