[quote="Amy"]Thanks Ant but you didn't look after me like you promised!

What???? I kept checking on you and dragging you back up to the others, you gave up at the M23 junction. I did my best, honest gov :D The pace did pick up and we averaged 22mph to the cafe. My whole ride average stayed the same. I thought you did well esp on the way back, good to see you've got some strength back.

I know, you did your best to keep me up there - except for that push I needed to just stay on over the motorway junction!! Next time I promise I won't weaken and I'll stay on till the steps when I will definitely lose it.

As for coming back, yeah, that felt good. That's my excuse - it takes me about 20 miles to get really warmed up

Who was the poor bloke who buried himself on the Merstham drag?

Jon

I am 'the bloke who is always late', living up to my moniker again on sat - and yes I did forget the left turn because of chatting to Jeff (sorry again, everyone) but I'm not at all sure about the 'bloody great big mad white dog' - wasn't it a tiny yapping Jack Russell type beast? I doubt it could have reached the pedals!

Club run was good fun as always.

Rob, Nick was the man, who got the coffee's in at coulsdon, so thanks to him again. Those chocolate tasters, we were given were excellent. I plan to continue practising the art of sitting in, from café to café. You looked like you were having fun towing us along, into that headwind.

'Who was the poor bloke who buried himself on the Merstham drag?'... ah, that'll be me then!

Had a good ride out with Paul, Ant and Rob (and Ed for a short time) in what Ant refers to as 'a fastish group' but which (because this is my first post and out of personal pride) I will refer to as the training group! My legs were pretty much done by the caff, in particular after our 4 man through and off (well, 3 really as I'm not sure I counted!). The cafe stop did its trick and so I felt pretty good again on the return. Somehow I did my usual and managed to put myself on the front at the start of the drag and knowing Paul and Ant were right behind it was time to give something back having been shielded by them for most of the ride out! Dug in and went for it, right up until the moment that the peleton zipped past me at the top making me look like a Sunday rider...

Won't be able to do the same this weekend I'm afraid as I am riding the Brighton 100, but will be back to do it all again after that...

Don't worry, I was coming up there the fastest I have done in a long time so hung on to the Ant'n'Paul train unlike earlier in the day when I decided discretion was the better part of valour.

I'm hoping to be riding as well this weekend and make it official with the 19s :D Hoping being the key word

We left you sitting at the front Nick for your own good, good for the training :D Just allows you to go at your hardest pace knowing we were breathing down your neck and making you work hard. You did well sat, you'll soon be playing with the fast boys on a regular training group CR, just keep pushing yourself and stick with it.
