Sunday Ride

Postby Mari » Sun Sep 20, 2009 5:50 pm

Hey you

Anyone can/want to ride next Sunday (27th)? Today I went to Richmond Park and did four laps and then went to the Skyride in town, but next Sunday thought of going somewhere else...? I often ride on Sunday, so not sure how you feel about having a regular Sunday ride?? It doesnt have to be every sunday and it can be more of a easy pisy ride. I think there is one more Sourthern Sportive sunday ride and then that is it..

Hi Mari,

It was good to meet you on Saturday and I hope you enjoyed the ride! I would often be up for a Sunday ride, though probably not this Sunday 27th as it's the day after my birthday and may be a little worse for wear. Will be out on Saturday morning though - hope you can make it along.

Once the season is over then I'm often out on Sunday's during the winter, mainly in the Surrey/Kent lanes.

I try and post something up in time for if anyone wants to join me.

There are a few Sunday rides coming up in my calendar:

4 October - Ride of the Falling Leaves
11 October - Catford and Bec Hill Climbs (either enter or ride out to watch)
1 November (I think) - Brighton (and back) with the veteran car run.

All of these will be much much better than riding round Richmond Park :D .

Forgot about that, date clashed with the SCCU lunch last year and if it is the 1st Nov then it will again this year. I'm doing the night cross at Herne Hill the evening before so might be a bit heavy legged but it is great fun. Might have to give the pie eating contest a miss this year, decisions, decisions.

Hey Andrew...I can't do the 11th as I am doing me last sportive event in Dunsdon (or Dunsfold..cant remember it is on the sourthern sportive website) and Falling Leaves is already booked (well this is what someone told me two weeks ago, must check it out again)
Richmond is good once, nice twice, ok after three times, reasonably ok after four times...then it becomes a bit boring and i start paying more attention to the deers that where i am going (another attempt for cyclo-cross like sat Bridget do you remember it?) so yes for any sunday rides any of you can think of...i can wait :D
Bridget, I just read your message..yes sunday may be a bit tricky...you say sat eh?
Toks, i didnt have a good time on sat, i had a F-A-B time, you guys are marvellous. i will get your kit soon (you must have small or x-small size please) and advertise you guys all across london as i commute to work, how does this sound to you? i feel blessed now that i have finally discovered you...thanks
what about week rides?
by the way: thursday is bicycle film festival (are any of you coming??)

nite

Mari you'll have to go to GB's (http://www.gbcycles.co.uk/) to get the club kit. I hope you manage to find your size...Suprisingly we don't have any dedicated weekly rides so you are free to do some moonlighting  but make sure you're back with us nice and sharp on saturday morning. :D
How is Richmond Park these days? Apparently it has been resurfaced and this has caused cyclists a bit of bother.

Have you tried the 3 lap challenge yet? If you do take care :D

That's funny, they must have increased the entry numbers as it was definitely sold out last night but now there are places, I just checked :?

Think I will enter then...
