I saw a preview and decided I'd be bored stupid by it (in a lost/heroes sort-of way)

How ironic is that?

Read the hype, watched it, notwithstanding the twist at the end am inclined to agree with Grahame; but shall give it a couple more weeks. Need something to replace the hole in my life left by the end of The Wire.

While on the subject of telly, BBC4 is showing French police procedural "Spiral" on Sundays at 10pm. Truly excellent and still on iPlayer. Different from UK/US cop shows, and useful for picking up some colloquialisms.

Glad to see the daddy of them all, HSB, is still on 4od.

[quote="marco"]Was looking forward to it but wondering why Ch5 had it. When it started I realised why.
Not exactly The Wire is it!?

True that. Andy McNab isn't exactly Dickens but I can still enjoy both

[quote="Sean Hogan"]Give it time, mind you your logic seems a bit off. Where was The Wire buried for so long? Oh yes that beacon of high quality broadcasting BBC3. Hmmm. Written by the team behind the new Star Trek and from the team that brought us Lost I reckon it'll do okay. Personally I miss Fringe on Sky1. That was excellent even if it was a revamped X files in all but name.

S.

The Wire was buried on FX then BBC2, which brought us Seinfeld. I won't evangelise about it but suggest you give it a try, subtitles on.

Very erudite bunch on that grauniad forum. Reminds me of Pseuds' Corner, and why I read The Daily Star :D . Agree with CKSam at 3.37 though.
