Yep, bloody right I am, determined is my middle name and going fast is my end game :D Riding better than ever at the mo, feeling strong, lost weight and feel like I've gained power. I'm quicker on the hills and my explosive power has come on. Can hold higher speeds for longer and find myself recovering quicker. Just need a good training schedule to get me through the winter and fingers crossed will start next season faster and stronger.

Talk is cheap. Its consistent training over the winter that will make you a better rider. Usually the best intentions fizzle out especially if you train on your own.

Is there any interest in (yet another) restricted area on the forum for a "training buddy" section. The idea being something like riders post their intended training schedule for the week/month and post what they actualy did at the end of the period - it doesnt have to be too detailed. The idea being that you are more likely to complete your training schedule if you tell others. You could also receive advice/feedback if wanted and learn from what others are doing. Hopefully we can all feed of each others motivation whatever level they are.

Marco said he is willing to do this if there is enough interest and it would be restricted to just riders that are prepared to blog.

I think this is a great idea, it would be a source of motivation plus can help as a guide to help you achieve your personal targets through swapping training hints and tips. Training is one area where I have no idea of where to start and I feel with the right training programme and a little motivation, in the way of a challenge knowing people will be watching my progress, I can hopefully become a stronger rider.
