Are they going to ban riders from dropping back to their team car to find out whats going on? If not, then the first team car in the line will have an advantage.

There is a structure to the order of the team cars (at least in a stage race) - the DS of the leader in GC is in the first team car, the rest are then in descending order of their team's best placed rider. So, yes the first team car in line has a (slight) advantage, but it is one their team has "earned"

In all other races, i.e one day stuff. Convoy positions are drawn from a hat. Do you want races to be won by whoever's car is at the front of the convoy? I guess it would make betting easier...
