Did you achieve your 2009 goals?

Postby Andrew G » Mon Oct 12, 2009 9:22 pm

Following on from Keith's...

Are you gonna be a better rider next year (2010)?

Before embarking headlong into next year I reckon having a look at the last year is worthwhile.

    Did you achieve your goals?
    What did you get right?
What could you have done better?

It might help in not repeating the same mistakes...

...if you put them here did you achieve them? I know the season may not have quite finished for some (I still have one 25 left) but can answer mine already anyway.
1) 10 PB
2) 25 PB
3) 50 PB
4) 100 PB
5) LEL

Okay they were a bit vague but the answers are...
1) Yes (23.22), comfortably and now down to what I consider getting respectable.
2) Yes and some (1.00.11). Big improvement and within sniffing distance of the hour.
3) Yes, again a big improvement (2.05.40), love this distance.
4) No, I haven't got the hang of these yet although I only rode one in the year. Next year I'll use the TT bike for the first time and crack this bugger so it isn't the embarrassing line on my entry forms.
5) No, withdrew in advance due to a complete lack of faith in the organisers. Subsequently not disappointed as I've read plenty to say that it didn't improve. I'm full of admiration for Brian (curly hair) who did ride it and finished within the time limit.

Not even close to any of mine. All in all a very poor year that started with my hernia op and I just never seemed to be able to focus after that.

Wasn't able to string a consistent period of training together coupled with poor nutrition and therefore never at a premium racing weight also hindred things.

Couple of highlights though, the Antelope 3 up TT with Sylv and George and the two Surrey League Handicap races that I did:D
