Campag chains were fine until they started going stupidly weight weenie with slotted plates and hollow pins, hence my comment about getting the normal KMC one. Slotted plates and hollow pins will save eff all weight but make a drivetrain weaker. It always makes me laugh when I see someone with a hugely expensive bike that they've shaved every gram off and then stick two full 750ml bottles on it.

No problems with the Shimano DA shain with hollow pins and links...

Indeed. What's even worse is when said bottles ae full of that SIS muck. Surely everyone knows that beer is lighter than water n SIS. It's the bubbles y'see :roll:

What made me scratch my head was, why is Jody C, a sponsored racer, clearly there to have a shot at the £1k prime, riding with 1500+gm 50mm wheels at the Bec (and Catford), not cheap ones mind carbon DA. Surely some 1kg lightweights could have been worth the precious few seconds he missed out on in the Bec. I'd 've lent him mine for £50 :wink:
